The 'All Things Local' radio show is ALL about creating and sharing connections with food, farms, forests, & people; to the myths and stories that live in the landscapes around us. Speaking to the passions for our local community, friendships, agriculture, entrepreneurship, creativity, and the places we call home where ever that may be by bringing our community to the table. Exploring & Celebrating 'All Things Local'.
Peggy Bellar & Meade Camp of Keller Williams Upstate NY Properties (Catskill Dream Team) and Frank Canavan of The Community Pantry (Arkville, NY) will be joining Nicole on ‘All Things Local’ to talk All Things Fighting Hunger Friday. On Friday, May 1st, when you dine at any of the participating 22 area restaurants (see listing below), you will have the opportunity to leave a donation; 100% of which will benefit the pantry. Kevin Spelman of Mod Media donated his services & designed a logo for the event. This logo was appropriately printed on a small brown lunch bag that waiters at the participating restaurants will use to collect donations.
The pantry serves over 400 households in the Town of Middletown per month. Cash donations allow the food pantries to purchase the items they need most at the time they need them. As summer approaches more children will be out of school and without the meals the schools provide. Even a small amount helps your food pantry year round. Most of the pantry recipients work full-time and 17% of our area residents live below the poverty level with median incomes of about $25,000 per year.
Keller Williams Upstate NY Properties Margaretville branch, along with community partner, AgriForaging, Inc. have pledged to do a matching donation of up to $1,000. In addition local Keller Williams agents will make a donation for every sale that is closed in the Margaretville office.
