A house party in Greenville ended in three stabbings and the arrest of five people in the early hours of Sunday, April 29, state police report.
18-year-old Catskill resident James Felter has been charged with the stabbings, and faces three counts of second-degree assault as well as a charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Around 12:45am on Sunday, state troopers responded to a caller who reported a fight at a large party at 749 Big Woods Road. Upon investigation, police found three people had been stabbed by someone who had left the party. A 19-year-old woman from Middleburgh was stabbed in the forearm, a 25-year-old man from Schenectady was stabbed in the leg, and a 19-year-old man from Cairo was stabbed in the torso.
None of the victims' injuries were life-threatening, police say, and the victims were taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital and Albany Medical Center.
State troopers arrested Felter on Sunday evening. He was remanded to the Greene County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
At the party, troopers also made four arrests in connection with underage drinking. Also arrested:
-Homeowner Daniel Whitbeck, 25. Whitbeck is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawfully dealing with a child, criminal nuisance, and violating Greene County law prohibiting the serving of alcohol to underage people in a private residence. He was remanded to the Greene County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
-Party promoter Nathan Lee, 26, of Westerlo, NY. Lee is charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and criminal nuisance. He was released on his own recognizance.
-Lee's employee Matthew Brink, 27, of Freehold, NY. Brink is charged with unlawfully dealing with a child. He was released on his own recognizance.
-A friend of Felter's, 23-year-old Samir Alygad of Greenville, NY. Alygad is charged with criminal impersonation and providing a false written statement. He was remanded to the Greene County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
All five are scheduled to reappear in the Town of Greenville Court on May 16.
