Close Encounters: Snakes and Amphibians of the Catskills

Wild Saturday at John Burroughs' Woodchuck Lodge, 1633 Burroughs Memorial Rd., Roxbury. Herpetology enthusiast Rachel Pollak will provide a survey of the most common herpetofauna one would meet on a Catskill trail. A visual guide will be provided, and perhaps a live guest (or two) will make an appearance. Talk will be on the lawn (under cover if rain), bring chair or blanket. Sponsored by LVDV Operations. Historic Lodge will be open for tours 11-2 and 2 to 3 Saturday, and again Sunday, Oct. 2 from 11 to 3. Program and tours are free; donations most welcome.
