Thanks to the New York State DOT for ensuring that our local tourist attractions are well-marked. For instance, this sign on Route 28 in Shandaken, which appears to depict a hardy mountaineer skiing directly uphill on a 60-degree slope.
(Or perhaps our intrepid skier is zooming down the mountain rear-end first? Hard to say.)
Thanks to eagle-eyed Flickr user TimCEsq for spotting this bit of interpretive signage. (We've noticed a few of them on Route 28 since he pointed it out. It appears to be deliberate.)
