Douglas Anthony Cordo, the father of Private First Class Douglas Cordo, a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan last week, called us today. After reading about the decision to dedicate Shandaken Day to the legacy of his son, he wanted to share his gratitude with the town of Shandaken. Here's his message:
"I would just like to say thank you to Mr. Rob Stanley and all the people of Shandaken for the support. My son would be proud that they have done so. I'd like to thank them from my whole family. Little Doug was a great kid. He was my hero."
