DEC has its headquarters in Albany, NY. There are nine regional offices throughout the state that also serve the public:
Region 1 (Long Island) - Suffolk and Nassau
Region 2 (NYC) - Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island
Region 3 (Lower Hudson Valley) - Sullivan, Ulster, Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester
Region 4 (Capital Region/Northern Catskills) - Montgomery, Otsego, Delaware, Schoharie, Schnectady, Albany, Greene, Rensselaer and Columbia
Region 5 (Eastern Adirondacks/Lake Champlain) - Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, Warren, Fulton, Saratoga and Washington
Region 6 (Western Adirondacks/Upper Mohawk Valley/Eastern Lake Ontario) - Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Lewis, Oneida and Herkimer
Region 7 (Central NY) - Oswego, Cayuga, Onondaga, Madison, Tompkins, Cortland, Chenango, Tioga and Broome
Region 8 (Rochester/Western Finger Lakes) - Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, Steuben, Schuyler and Chemung
Region 9 (Western NY) - Niagara, Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany
