The Watershed Agricultural Council and Pure Catskills are featuring a different Catskills farmers' market every week during the 2015 growing season.
This week's market is the Sidney Farmers' Market, one of several local farm markets sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County.
The Sidney Farmers' Market is held every Thursday from July 2 through September 24, in the parking lot of Video Entertainment at 89 Main Street, from 2pm to 6pm. Three Tuesday markets will also be held in the Sidney Civic Center during the 2015 season. The dates for the Tuesday markets are July 28, August 25 and September 22.
This year the Sidney Market welcomes back Brookside Market Gardens and Whitetail Meadow Farm. Produce available at the market in Sidney includes: beets, chard, herbs, kohlrabi, melons, onions, peppers, spinach, cabbage, beans, squash, tomatoes and other fresh vegetables and fruit.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County also sponsors the Walton Farmers' Market, hosted on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at the UHS Delaware Valley Hospital parking lot, and the Deposit Farmers' Market, held on August 20 and September 17 at the First United Methodist Church in Deposit.
Farmers who want to sell local foods at the Cornell Cooperative Extension markets can contact market manager Jeanne Darling at 607-865-6531 or email vsd22@cornell.edu for more information.
