Do you like to cook? Do you like history? If the answer is a resounding “yes,” then come to the Delaware County Historical Association on Saturday, March 5 at 1pm to experience some good old-fashioned dining-car era railroad food! Participants will get a chance to make their own "Transcontinental Bran Muffins" to take home, and DCHA's own Samantha Misa will be on hand to demonstrate three other recipes that everyone will get to sample. On the menu is "Old 97" Peach Crisp, Welsh Rarebit, and Cape Cod Cranberry Orange Relish. The workshop is suitable for all ages and skill levels. Participants will receive a booklet of the recipes demonstrated.
There is a small fee of $5 per person to offset the cost of ingredients. Registration is helpful to ensure that there is enough material on hand. Call DCHA at 607-746-3849 or e-mail dcha@delhi.net to register, or for more information.
This is the first in a series of three hands-on workshops designed to introduce participants to typical foods and dishes of a particular era.
DCHA is located two miles north of the village of Delhi at 46549 State Hwy. 10.
