Summer.... Autumn.... Winter.... Mud..... Spring.... Voila the five seasons of life in the Hudson Valley region. Mudrooms are a nice thing to have, but somehow the mud seems to find its way past that door into the rest of the house. From woodstove wood bits throughout the winter, to muddy boots in transition to springtime, there's never a dearth of sweeping and cleaning!
Thankfully, the mud season heralds gloriously sweet things like maple syrup taps on the trees and kale sprouts in the high tunnel! And getting out to meet friends again, both old and new. We had a wonderful time last Sunday at the Pine Bush Home Show, getting to know folks over the Ridge and sharing Rondout Valley Organics news. Today's warm sunshine inspired some drilling and tapping.. just in time for a fresh batch of syrup, as we are all out of the last one! Of course, we just tap enough for our family. If you're looking to buy some fresh, local syrup in the coming weeks, do explore Rondout Valley Organics and consider a membership... for the easiest access to local syrup and lots more.
