Chiara String Quartet at the West Kortright Centre
Bartók by Heart
Chiara String Quartet has established itself as among America’s most respected ensembles, lauded for its highly virtuosic, edge-of-the-seat playing” (Boston Globe). The quartet's recent international travels have included extensive tours of China, Korea, and Sweden as well as appearances at the American Academy in Rome and the Montreal Chamber Music Festival, and a performance of Steve Reich’s Different Trains in Munich. Harkening back to a tradition that is centuries old and still common among soloists, the ensemble has adapted to performing sans printed sheet music. They will perform three Bartók string quartets from memory.
