A bit of scary weather behind us (albeit not nearly as scary as predicted for most of us in the blogshed), we can now expect to enjoy the weekend, isn't that right, National Weather Service? At any rate, here's some of what's going on around the blogshed this week:
- Farmers continue to rule; Upstater has visual proof.
- The Beekman 1802 blog unearthed this gem: an 1883 profile of Sharon Springs in the New York Times -- spoiler alert: the Times was portraying the region as in need of a facelift even then.
- And in keeping with the looking-into-our-past theme: remembering a lightning strike in Bovina 120 years ago.
- A recap of River Day, featuring Pete Seeger.
- New Paltz turns 125 years old; throws block party and invites neighbors to rock.
- The developer looking to build a multimillion dollar sports complex in Saugerties has scrapped the project, according to the Saugerties Times.
- Calling all climbers: have you found this dude's gear? Reward for return.
Enjoy the weekend, everyone!
