The Matthew 25 Food Pantry in Catskill, which was shut down by fire a month ago, is moved to a new location at 8 Union Street and once again open for business, the Daily Mail reports:
In mid-May, the pantry was devastated by a fire at its former location at 298 Main St. Since then, [pantry director Patti] Dushane and a group of volunteers have been working hard — “day and night,” according to Dushane — to prepare a building formerly occupied by a division of the Greene County Social Services for its new use.
The pantry’s furniture, refrigerators and freezers as well as the non-perishable food and clothing clients can take were donated by stores and other businesses and members of the community, Dushane said.
