According to the Middletown Flood Recovery website today, the landslide that blocked Hog Mountain Road in the Denver/Vega Valley and in Fleischmanns last week is still a big problem that drivers shouldn't ignore.
The site reports that drivers had been ignoring "Road Closed" signs on the road, which has caused problems with repair work:
Town Highway Superintendent John Biruk advises that soil boring will be done on the Denver side of Hog Mountain Road today to determine how to repair or prevent further slippage of the hillside that dropped several inches last week. Concrete barricades have been installed at the top and bottom of the road because drivers were going around the “Road Closed” signs, obliterating the marks on the pavement that had been put there to determine if movement had occurred. Please obey the signs, for your own safety and that of work crews.
