Update, 11:00am: The shelter currently operating at the upper lodge at Belleayre is still open, although the FEMA office at the lower lodge is closed for the day. From the Town of Middletown recovery website:
The Belleayre Mountain Recovery Center is open today despite reports to the contrary. It continues offering the following services:
- Red Cross has some cleaning supplies but NO Gloves
- Shelter is available each night for those in need. Pets are allowed.
- Open 24 hours.
- Clothing for men, women and children available at the LongHouse Lodge.
- Dry Ice
- 3 hot meals daily and packaged food
If anyone cannot get to Belleayre they can have meals delivered. Call 845-254-5600 ext. 1301
They are taking donations of the following packaged items ONLY: underwear, socks and t-shirts. Needed: milk, butter, eggs, condiments and batteries.
Upper lodge is open for services. Lower level: disaster assistance FEMA, Department of Labor, etc, is closed today.
