Two sites are set up and open as of today, Wed, Aug. 31.
The Town of Middletown announced late yesterday that there will be two
temporary Dumping Sites set up immediately for the use of anyone
without restrictions.The main site is located on the Arkville Crossroad, County Route 38,
at the Water Discovery Property. The sites are manned and open from
7:00 AM to 5:00 PM everyday. These sites will be open thru Sept. 12th.At the Arkville site all flood items are accepted but must be
separated. There will be areas for construction debris, tires, scrap
metal,freon devices( freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners,
humidifiers etc., hazardous waste chemicals (paints, thinners, stains,
etc.), electronics (TV's, stereos, computers, monitors, printers,
etc.) and trees and brush.The second site for Fleischmann's residents ONLY is located at East
corner of route 28 and East Main Street. This site will accept all the
above with the exception of trees and brush. Any trees and brush will
have to be taken to the Arkville site.The transfer station is open regular hours 8:30 to 4:30 Tuesday -
Saturday and Sunday 8:30 to 2:30. CLOSED Monday. All regular rules
apply. NO flood debris can be taken there.The Walton transfer station will also take these items and there will
be NO TIPPING FEES charged.
