This just in from Delaware County Emergency Services, around 11:30am: Sporadic phone outages and problems routing calls to 911 are being reported from around the county.
Currently Verizon and some local carriers are experiencing phone and 911 service disruption throughout the county. These outages may be sporadic. Delaware County is continuing to assess the situation and we are requesting fire departments in the affected areas to have staff in the station for emergencies. If you have an emergency and cannot dial 911 please go to your local fire station for help.
Sound familiar? On Tuesday, a transformer explosion on a utility pole in Shandaken briefly took down 911 service for the 845 area code in Delaware County.
