As It Does So...Surface Low Pressure Is Expected To Develop Across The Western Atlantic Which Will Then Move Up The East Coast On Friday. Periods Of Heavy Snow Are Forecast To Develop Along A Surface Boundary Extending Northwest From This Low Pressure System Friday And Friday Night. Periods Of Heavy Snow Will Be Possible Across The Catskills And Western Mohawk Valley Regions Of Central New York...Where Significant Snowfall Accumulations Will Be Possible. Much Uncertainty Remains Regarding The Evolution Of This System As The Exact Placement Of The Surface Boundary Placement Remains Questionable At This Time.
From their master list of New York State weather alerts, the NWS appears to have warnings in place in Greene, Ulster, Sullivan and Delaware Counties, though if you view the actual weather alerts, the "Affected Jurisdictions" list only Greene and Delaware Counties. We suspect there's some sort of technical issue with their website, and that the warnings are meant to apply more broadly.
