According to a press release issued by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office at 6:30 this morning, the state of emergency has been lifted in all towns in the county, and the roads are open. But they do caution:
Some roads remain affected within the county with debris and damage. Anyone traveling should be careful, especially on secondary roads and monitor all traffic barriers that have been placed there by highway crews.
As of last night, there was still a state of emergency in Delhi, Walton, Hamden and Davenport. That's now lifted.
The dispatcher at the sheriff's office says there are a few minor roads that are still flooded or too damaged to drive on: Basin Clove Road in Hamden to Back River Road, O&W Road between Fishs Eddy and Hancock, and Wolf Hollow Road in Andes. A good rule of thumb? When in doubt, don't go there. And don't drive across running water, or you could end up like this guy.
The Daily Star has a new story about flooding in the county yesterday. And they talked to the farmer whose pumpkins floated away in Davenport.
Are there problems with any other roads out there that we haven't reported? Want to let us know how things are in your neck of the woods? If so, please leave us a comment below.
