A crash involving multiple motorcycles and a car killed 40-year-old Mark S. Mackay yesterday afternoon near Minnewaska State Park, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. The Times Herald-Record has the story
The sheriff's office said there were two groups of motorcycles in the area, one eastbound and one westbound, when the crash happened around 2:25 p.m. When a car stopped to turn left onto Zolota Osin Road, Mackay's motorcycle and another motorcycle rear-ended the car, and one of them then hit one of the eastbound motorcycles.
Mackay was taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two other motorcyclists were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment of serious injuries.
