The Daily Mail reports that a crew repairing a water main break yesterday hit a gas line, which led to an evacuation of Coxsackie's downtown:
Local resident Antonio D'Arcangelis said he was sitting at his window and saw the backhoe strike the pipeline.
“When I saw that backhoe hit the main and workers began running from the pipe, I knew we would all be evacuated — you could smell the gas right away,” D'Arcangelis said.
