New York state Senate majority leader Pedro Espada might have topped himself. After declaring yesterday that he would boycott today's special Senate session on the long-overdue state budget, he's reportedly heading to Albany right now, and bringing his crucial budget-passing vote with him.
Ken Lovett at the New York Daily News Daily Politics blog says that rumors are flying about what Espada might demand in return for that vote:
Insiders say there are talks going on about putting some of Espada's requested agenda on the floor for a vote, including a housing bill and farm workers' rights legislation.
