Grand Gorge Apartments, managed by Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council, Inc., are located in the historic hamlet of Grand Gorge in the former school located on State Highway 30. The Grand Gorge Apartments provide safe and affordable housing to persons with disabilities, the handicapped, and to senior citizens 62 years of age or older.
The school has been converted to 20 one- bedroom unfurnished apartments and 3 two-bedroom unfurnished apartments. Each is complete with a kitchen, living room-dining room combination, and bathroom with tub-showers and safety grab bars. Each bedroom and bathroom is equipped with pull cords that are monitored 24- hours per day for added tenant safety.
Amenities include ample off-street parking, an on-site coin-operated laundry facility, and a community room. A regularly-scheduled bus picks up tenants to go shopping every week and alternates between Albany and Kingston, along with local shopping. The Senior Meal Site is adjacent to the apartments, providing nutritious and delicious meals daily, Monday through Friday.
Tenant incomes must be at, or below 60% of the Delaware County median income. Rents are subsidized, and tenant's share may vary, as they are based upon individual income.
