Do you own a rental property? Are you a landlord who needs a little help fixing up your investment property?
Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council, Inc. (WCCRC) is pleased to announce that they are accepting applications for a HOME Rental Rehabilitation grant in Harpersfield, Kortright, and Stamford (including the Villages of Hobart and Stamford) in Delaware County; Ashland and Prattsville in Greene County and Blenheim, Broome, Conesville, Fulton, Gilboa, Jefferson, and Summit in Schoharie County. This program provides funds to address housing health, safety and accessibility issues, improve energy consumption and more. Tenant incomes in improved apartments must be 60% or below of your county’s HUD median income limits.
Velga Kundzins, Executive Director, says “This is an opportunity that should be considered by all landlords in the eligible towns and villages. This program provides funding to rehabilitate apartments or the common areas of an apartment building. While a landlord match is required, the grant pays for most of the work.”
WCCRC is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit Rural Preservation Company with a mission to cooperate with local, state and federal governmental and civic bodies in aiding, assisting and fostering the planning, development, renewal, and improvement of housing and other buildings for the primary purpose of revitalizing communities.
The professional staff at WCCRC is friendly and knowledgeable and can guide landlords through the simple process of applying. Applications and Fact Sheets for these programs are available from Sheleigah Grube, who is the program manager.
