The Bardsley farmhouse is one of the historic gems that make up the picturesque hamlet of Lew Beach, a very New England-style, bucolic outpost in The Catskills that emphasizes land conservation and is blissfully fly fishing obsessed. With the Beaverkill River running through the town (and adjacent to this property), it has attracted fishers for generations. The Bardsley House was, in fact, a boarding house for fishers for a time, and an 1880s addition brought the talley up to five bedrooms (plus a finished attic). The picturesque front porch looks out beyond the statuesque maples and white picket fence, across the sleepy country road to a 3-4 acre meadow bordered in stone walls that is part of the property. Inside, the original stone fireplace lends character to a pine paneled living room with 9' ceilings, and there is a sizable dining room with window-wrapped bump out. The house has a 3 year old oil furnace and forced hot air which goes to most but not all rooms in the house.
