HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley® is pleased to announce that Mountainside Residential Care Center is participating in the Gold Success Through Assessment, Management and Prevention (STAMP) Program to Reduce Pressure Ulcers. The program is a coalition of organizations that provide evidence-based education and resources to improve the assessment, management and prevention of pressure ulcers.
Philip Mehl, Administrator of Mountainside Residential Care Center, said the program will further bolster the quality of care that residents have when transferring between facilities.
“The Program is a collaborative effort between long-term and acute care facilities to provide continuation for quality pressure ulcer care when a patient or resident is transferred between organizations,” said Mehl. “The Gold STAMP Program provides additional free resources for facilities on evidence-based research and practice for pressure ulcer care.”
Under the guidelines of the program, a single communication tool will be used when a resident is transferred and includes risk factors, pressure ulcer staging, treatments, and equipment used to ensure the receiving facility works in the current pressure ulcer treatment plan.
According to Medicare’s latest Nursing Home Compare rankings (www.medicare.gov/nhcompare), Mountainside Residential Care Center is one of 86 nursing facilities in New York State with a 5-star rating, out of a total of 703.
