Alex Wing, of Morris NY, was a tent manufacturer for 20 years. One day, when he had to shovel snow off the roof of one of his big buildings all by himself, he got the bright idea of using a very tent slick material as a chute to help the snow slide off the roof. This way, he avoided having to shovel the same snow two and three times......and hence.......the Snow Chute. Check it out. Alex is a pretty sweet guy too!
