The winter months of cold and short, dark days will find the Commons Gallery festooned with images of “Family, Friends, Celebration and Holiday Colors”; paintings of local artist, Alix Hallman Travis. These works of oil on canvas, watercolor and collage all have in common: relationships, warmth, brilliant color and the shared values of the holiday season and all year round.
As an added bonus a visitor will likely catch Travis in the act of creating as she will be leaving her Halcottsville studio for work in the warmer Commons Gallery. She invites friends and the public to drop in, share a cup of tea, enjoy her paintings and watch as she creates the watercolor collages that have been gestating in her mind all summer. Come frequently and see the artist in action as paintings develop and then finally, hang on the wall!
