The DEC MURAL in ARKVILLE The DEC MURAL ARKVILLE PROJECT is a community outdoor art project by local artist Joanna Murphy. The large scale landscape mural (20' x 5') is located on the RR building at 43263 State Highway 28 in Arkville. The nature of the mural is celebratory, it characterizes the connections between the local people and the land. The mural design process was a synthesis from speaking with many people of Arkville and asking the question, "What is important to you about Arkville". The project includes a community outreach program to the Margaretville Central School and pop-up art galleries to display student artworks on the theme. The galleries are located in the Fairview Public Library and "The Community ArtSpace" in The Commons Building both located in Margaretville. Stop by the mural in Arkville anytime and enjoy! This project is made possible in part, with funds from the Decentralization Program, an re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered in Delaware County by the Roxbury Arts Group.
