A 46-year-old East Durham man allegedly assaulted another man with a sword on Friday, Oct. 2, sending his victim to the hospital, police say.
David M. Girard was arrested by the New York State Police and charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a press release from the New York State Police.
Girard was arraigned in the town of Cairo and is being held in the Greene County Jail on $25,000 cash bail, police say.
