Middleburgh man arrested on weapons charges

An multi-agency investigation into several area burglaries has led to the arrest of a Middleburgh man on weapons charges, state police announced Tuesday. 

Arrested on Friday, Dec. 13 was 64-year-old Eugene Falco, who was charged after a search of his Middleburgh home uncovered several weapons Falco was prohibited from possessing because of a prior conviction. Police also found a wood splitter that had been reported stolen to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office. 

Falco is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal purchase of a weapon, and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. 

Investigating the burglaries were the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Otsego County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police at Fonda. 

Falco was arraigned in Middleburgh town court and remanded to the Schoharie County jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
