So far, so good in Lexington

The news was all good out of Lexington as of 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

Fire Chief Paul Dwon reported that all roads were opened and that power had been restored after a short outage.

“The streams are staying low enough,” he said, noting that wind seemed to be the predominant threat.

However, he did urge residents to remain vigilant during the overnight hours when rain is supposed to slide into the Catskills. Dwon said members of the fire company and rescue squad would be stationed at the firehouse all night, where they had cots to sleep on, and hot dogs and hamburgers to eat.

He said up-to-date information was being broadcast on the local radio station WRIP, which streams live on the internet as well as on 97.9 from the Windham mountaintop.
