Police arrest man who allegedly approached 13-year-old girl online

According to a press release from the New York State Police, a 25-year-old Fishkill man who communicated with a 13-year-old girl for the purpose of engaging in a sexual act was arrested by state police on Monday.

Michael Geleski was charged with attempted disseminating indecent material to minors in the first degree and attempted endangering the welfare of a child – a felony - after state police in Highland received a complaint from a parent that an unknown adult male was attempting to communicate with her daughter through social media sites, the press release said.

Geleski was arrested after arriving at a “predetermined location” where he had allegedly made plans to meet the 13-year-old female for the “purpose of engaging in sexual conduct,” the press release said.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, as well as the Attorney General’s office and State Police Computer Crimes Unit investigated the complaint with multiple local police departments.

Geleski was arraigned in the city of Albany court and sent to Albany County Jail on $10,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 13.
