A 52-year-old Palenville man was arrested for burglary on Saturday after allegedly threatening a homeowner with a hammer and knife, a New York State Police press release said.
Michael P. Legari was arrested by New York State Police in Catskill after an investigation revealed he unlawfully entered a home and threatened the owner with a hammer and knife.
New York State Police in Catskill told the Watershed Post that Legari entered the home in the town of Hunter and began arguing with the homeowner. Once the argument escalated, Legari “menaced” the owner with the weapons.
Police said they have not determined what the argument was about.
Legari was charged with burglary in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and menacing in the second degree.
Legari was arraigned in the village of Tannersville Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail on $1,000 bail.
