The Daily Star reports that 35-year-old Hobart resident Dante Darren Major has been arrested on felony drug trafficking charges, after a year-long investigation by Otsego County, state, and other local law enforcement dubbed "Operation Gold Rush."
Reporter Mark Boshnack writes that Major is thought to have been a central figure in the local illegal oxycodone market:
A source close to the investigation said that police believe Major supplied 95 percent or more of that drug in Delaware and Otsego counties.
More arrests are expected, the Star reports.
WBNG reports that if convicted, Major could face 15 years to life in prison.
