As I write this, it's pouring rain. Hallelujah! We're in the beginning stages of a drought, so let's hope it keeps raining for a bit. Here's what's been going on around the Catskills this weekend.

- Hello, little turtle! An endangered Blanding's turtle made an appearance on Main Street in Middleburgh this week. He's a long way from home.
- The Greene County youth fair is going on now in Cairo's Angelo Canna Park -- running through Saturday.
- Saugerties Times reports that the Feds think NYC should stop releases into the Esopus.
- Kingston wins competition it probably didn't know it was in.
- Camping skills for women weekend coming to a favorite Greene County destination.
- The future of the Nevele now hinges on a gambling license from the state commission. Literally a roll of the dice. Ellenvillagers (Ellenvillers? Ellenvillains?) will have to wait until the 2013 legislative session to find out what will happen to the storied resort.
- But, in the meantime, enjoy these pre- and post-boom times photos of the classic Borscht Belts resorts. Eerie stuff.
