The New York State Police report that 24-year-old Jason Wells of Rosendale was arrested on Tuesday, October 4, on charges that he assaulted and injured a 7-month-old baby that was left in his care.

On Tuesday October 4th, 2011 the Ulster County Family Violence Investigation Unit, comprised of; the New York State Police, Ulster County Sheriffs Office, Town of Ulster Police and Ulster County Child Protective Services, assisted by the New York State Police at Kingston, arrested JASON WELLS, 24 years old, of Rosendale, New York, for Assault in the Second Degree, a Felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Misdemeanor. JASON WELLS was arrested after a criminal investigation determined that on Sunday October 02, 2011 he physically assaulted a 7 month old infant that was left in his care by the baby’s mother. WELLS caused numerous injuries to the face and head of the baby. WELLS was arraigned by Town of Rosendale Justice Vosper and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $ 15,000 cash bail. WELLS is scheduled to appear in the Town of Rosendale Court at 4:00 pm on Tuesday October 11, 2011.
