Yesterday's New York Times featured the town of Roxbury in Delaware County in a big way: Reporter Bethany Lyttle, who has a house in Roxbury, interviewed fellow Roxbury fellows-about-town Michael Mathis and Christopher Durham about how they've managed to co-own a house in the town as best friends for eight years.
As is required in a NYT shelter article, Mathis and Durham discuss their "1870s Greek Revival vernacular farmhouse" and its interior design, but they also wax lyrical about blueberry bushes, beekeeping, and baking. And then Mathis, who serves on the board of directors of the Roxbury Arts Group and can often be heard on WIOX, offers an adorable quote about why he loves Roxbury:
It’s gradual, but being here changes you. You wake up one day and realize that producing the Roxbury Christmas parade is as important to you as producing an international television show.
