There was lots of excitement in the tiny hamlet of Bearsville last Friday, according to the Daily Freeman:
An elderly woman was rescued from her car in a stream Friday morning after the vehicle barrelled backward from the Cub Market parking lot, then went across state Route 212, through a wooded area, down a bank and into the water, according to a town of Woodstock police officer.
James Mullen said the woman, whose name was not provided, was pulled from her half-submerged Volvo by town firefighters who used the Jaws of Life extraction tool to reach her.
The woman was uninjured, according to the report.
