Videographer Lance Wheeler may specialize in "exceptional and affordable wedding video," but on Saturday he shot a death-defying rescue of a pilot trapped in a crashed glider in Greene County.
In the video above, which has quite the knuckle-biting soundtrack, Wheeler records first responders figuring out how to free the the pilot, a Connecticut man, whose glider crashed into a tree near the Freehold Airport in Greenville on Saturday afternoon. The pilot walked away unscathed after two hours trapped in the nose-down cockpit, which means that Wheeler's video ends with rejoicing and applause.
The Daily Mail has more info about the crash:
The pilot — whose identity could not be ascertained on Sunday — crashed after the tow plane experienced engine trouble and released the glider. He was freed, apparently uninjured, after about two hours trapped in the cockpit. The glider crashed with the nose facing down and the tail section lodged between branches.
