A man whose body was pulled from the Hudson River last Friday has tentatively been identified as missing 27-year-old Troy resident Matthew Rafferty, the Troy Record reports:
Troy Police Capt. John Cooney said that Rafferty’s family has been notified of the pending ID, but a positive identification is still subject to DNA analysis. The body’s condition is consistent with submersion throughout the winter months, Cooney said.
Rafferty and his brother, Keith, 28, were both reported missing on Nov. 18 of last year, and were last seen that day in the area of 106th Street and Third Avenue in Troy. At the time, investigators did not believe the men to be in harm’s way, but a police press release issued on Nov. 30 noted that "this disappearance is beyond the norm to the point that the help of the local media and the public is being sought."
