Embattled Oorah, Inc., a Jewish organization that runs a summer camp for girls in Gilboa, won a court battle against the town of Jefferson yesterday. The ruling will allow Oorah to go forward with building a matching summer camp for boys on the grounds of the former Scotch Valley ski resort. From the Mountain Eagle:
Judge Devine essentially found the building permits issued to Oorah Resorts LLC on May 13 were valid, rendering the town’s case moot. The initial permits were issued by Michael Schwarzkopf, Code Enforcement Officer and Building Inspector for the town of Jefferson. The town then hired an engineer to review the work at BoyZone.
