Three men who decided to harvest deer in Roscoe a week early were arrested by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation on Wednesday. 26-year-old Steve Rosati, 27-year-old Vincent J. Lopicolo and 27-year-old Christopher Abrahamsen have been fined $1,000 each for taking deer on Beaverkill Rd. in Livingston Manor.
Regular deer season officially begins at sunrise on November 20 in the southern region of the state. For the full press release about the Roscoe hunters, see below:
STATE POLICE ROSCOE ARREST HUNTERS FOR ILLEGALLY TAKING DEER On 11/10/2010 State Police Roscoe in conjunction with New York State Environmental Conservation arrested three hunters for illegally taking deer. Steve Rosati, age 26 of Hopewell Jct. NY, Vincent J. Lopicolo, age 27 of Staten Island NY and Christopher Abrahamsen, age 27 of White plains NY were all arrested for illegally taking deer from a public roadway on Beaverkill Rd in Livingston Manor, Sullivan County, NY. All three hunters were arraigned before the Town of Rockland Judge, Peter Feinberg and each were sentenced to a $1000.00 fine.
