The Catskills region currently has its hands full fighting an invading horde of small green aliens. But an even more deadly battle is brewing: Their bigger, badder black-and-white cousins are lurking downstate, waiting for the opportunity to strike.
They're Asian Longhorned Beetles, they could destroy a third of North America's trees, and they're on the big screen. This summer, director Emily Driscoll released a new short film about the invasion: "Bugged: The Race to Eradicate the Asian Longhorned Beetle." It's making its New York premiere this Saturday at 2:30pm, at the Tanglewood Nature Center in Elmira.
